St. Therese ~ Little Flower Shrine, Hauppauge

Posted on July 20, 2011 at 8:09 AM

Last night approximately 40 members joined with Father Tony as we celebrated Mass at the Shrine in Hauppauge.  Some of the members sat in the chapel while others sat outdoors.  Mary Monte led the Rosary at 6:30 in the chapel and Pat O'Hara led the Rosary outdoors at 6:40.

As always, Father Tony has a way of speaking right to you ~ it is as if he truly knows what is going on in each of our daily lives.  We cannot thank him enough for being willing to celebrate Mass for us at this beautiful, peaceful setting.

Sally Rolfe and her husband and family (her parents built the shrine in 1940's) maintaines the shrine each day and honors St. Therese feast day (first weekend in Oct.) with a magnificent celebration on the shrine property.  Sally joined us at Mass and spent some time talking to us at the end of Mass.  She welcomes all of us to stop in at any time to say a prayer.

Father Tony opened Mass with all of us singing This is Holy Ground ~ These are Holy Hands.  How befitting, the shrine is on holy ground and we are all holy, using our hands to do God's work here on earth.

May God bless Sally and her family for all they do and for her warm welcome of our group.

May we all be blessed and continue to do "little things" for God and each other with the greatest Love.

How blessed was I to be able to attend such an amazing evening, that was full of love, life and spiritual growth for me. Surrounded by such incredible holy women and Fr. Tony, makes me want to be better at everything I do and who I am. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to share in this most beautiful event. Would love to do this again, perhaps I shall visit on my own time, bring a flower and ask for special blessings for all. In the name of God, Amen. xxx

Hi Madeline, the Shrine is on residential property. The home is located on Roosevelt Blvd. in Hauppauge. Lincoln Blvd (near Hauppauge High School) cross over Vets Hgwy. Make a right onto Atlantic Pl and your first right onto Roosevelt. Halfway down the block on your left you will see a driveway - at the end of the driveway is the chapel. You can just walk up and visit the chapel.....you can also knock on the homeowners door - Sally is a beautiful, warm and welcoming person. Enjoy your visit

These messages are about one year old and I was wondering if it is still possible to visit this shrine. I live in Queens but when I'm in the Hauppauge area I would love to stop there. Also, if any prayer meetings or events are coming up, please let me know. Thanks.
